“The Lives of Others,” which I first learned about on an Eric Voegelin discussion group, is a marvelous film from beginning to its simply stunning end.
It is a German film about the Stasi during the years before the wall fell, and (briefly) after. Five stars. And the DVD has a great interview (in his perfect and perceptive English) with the amazing young director, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.
