More On Infant Vaccines

I’ve had a number of responses to my previous post, and thanks to Rohn W. for clarifying a point about infant immunity and vaccinations. He writes:

Exactly what kinds of vaccines they give babies, I don’t know, but if they are not passive immunity, but active (like the swine flu shot), it will take some time for the baby’s system to respond [because we] don’t see obvious signs of an infant’s system producing antibodies until after 6 months.

So it is possible that the recommended vaccines for newborns under 6 months of age do not require a fully developed immune system. The recommendations do not necessarily reflect demonstrated safety.

So, I’ll revert to the more obvious problem with the pregnant women and young children swine flu vaccine recommendation, which is characterized in this article from the LRC homepage.
