Writes Ron Shirtz: “My wife and I are fans of the TV series ‘Monk.’ Today we watched the episode, ‘Mr. Monk Goes To The Circus.’ Early in the show, Adrian Monk questions a woman who witnessed a murder. The woman is a Russian working in a European circus touring the US. He deduces that she did not report witnessing the murder, because she did not want to draw attention to herself until she finished the process of gaining US citizenship. When she asked how he knew, Monk replied: ‘That pamphlet in your bag. You are studying the US constitution, something which no citizen would ever do. Good luck, by the way.’ I thought I would bust a gut.”
