Media Headlines Are Untrustworthy

Journalism schools and corporate pressures, along with public education, have produced reporters who can’t and don’t write accurate headlines and don’t even know how to fashion a good article. I await the day when the truth stares them in the face and they wake up. Maybe if sales drop off badly enough, they might begin to act like real reporters. But I’m not holding my breath. There’s still some worth in the papers, but it’s harder to dig out.

The Wall Street Journal has a headline today: “Obama Proposes Surveillance-Policy Overhaul”. This is wildly inaccurate. He did nothing of the sort. Instead read these comments in Techdirt.
