We read today that authorities in Boulder, Colorado, will not charge John Mark Karr with the rape and murder of Jon Benet Ramsey. It seems that (1) the DNA does not match, and (2) witnesses place Karr elsewhere the night that Ramsey was murdered.

Meanwhile, back in Durham, North Carolina, we have rape charges remaining against Reade Seligmann, Colin Finnerty, and David Evans even though (1) there are no DNA matches (despite the fact that D.A. Michael Nifong claimed at first that DNA would “solve” the case), and (2) witnesses place Seligmann (and most likely Finnerty) elsewhere when the supposed “crimes” took place.

There is another difference, as well. In Boulder, Jon Benet Ramsey really was raped and murdered. In Durham, the entire set of charges is a lie perpetrated by government authorities.
