May 1 was May Day—Labor Day in China—and the kick-off of Barack Obama’s campaign for reelection in the U.S.
Some anti-Obamaites are weeping that this ensures the reelection of our Leader. I’m not so sure. A lot can happen in a year—just take yourself back a year, and see how many pivotal things have happened since then that you did not foresee.
(1) I continue to maintain, as I have since 2008, that the state of our economy in October–November 2012 will be the main factor in who wins the election. Dozens of economic H-bombs are poised to fall at unpredictable times, and it is just a question of how many will fall before the election.
(2) This Obama incident is so phony and convenient, it can only add to public skepticism about anything our government says and claims. Two years ago the “birther” issue truly was limited to the political fringes. Who could have guessed that skepticism on Obama’s birth would grow so high that he would be forced to reveal what is claimed to be his real birth certificate. [I am not talking about the merits of the “birther” issue. I’m talking about the level of public skepticism and disbelief.] This Obama incident is so much more phony, we may end up with a wave of public disbelief that could be revolutionary. I’m not predicting that; I continue to believe that the American public is as gullible as Charlie Brown still thinking he’s going to get to kick that football. I’m just saying it is possible.
A dear friend says: “Lighten up, David. Osama bin Laden is dead.”
I’m not disputing that. When I write about “the alleged death of Osama bin Laden,” I am just raising questions about when and how he died. The Official Version, in other words. It is all too, too, too convenient…for Obama, for his reelection campaign, for the whole “war on terrorism.” Dumping his body in the ocean before DNA tests come in—out of respect for Islam—is there no limit to what our leaders think we will buy?
I guess not. I look at all those kids celebrating across from the White House and I weep for my country. They have bought the Kool-Aid lock, stock, and barrel.
This is a time of pride and rejoicing for America—really? The Civil War lasted 4 years, World War I lasted a little more than 4 years, and World War II lasted 4 years (for the U.S.). Yet it took us 10 years to find one old man in the mountains, with all our supposed technological expertise, and in the meantime he has achieved his goal of bankrupting America. We should be proud of that?
In addition to the two articles added to today’s www.LewRockwell.com, I recommend a look at “Why that photo of a dead Osama bin Laden is a photoshopped fake.” The photographer/reporter says: “It doesn’t change the fact that Osama bin Laden is dead. But it does prove that photos of the corpse are not in the public domain.”
