Max “Empire” Boot Strikes Again

When we last left Max Boot, within a few days after 9/11, he was urging the United States to go in search of “empire.” Now, a government that could not protect its citizens from men with box cutters certainly would not be able to sustain a world-wide empire, but apparently Boot has had some influence.

Now he is urging a “stay the course” point of view in Iraq, complete with his own twisted version of the Vietnam War. It seems, however, that Boot wants the U.S. armed forces to invade Iran and Syria just like it did Cambodia.

It is interesting to me how these neo-cons (emphasis on “cons”) are so anxious to encourage other people to fight for neo-con ideals, but neo-cons over the years have been absent from the ranks of the military. I guess they are like Dick Cheney, who had “other priorities” during Vietnam.
