Marx (as in Groucho) Portrays U.S. Foreign Policy in Under a Minute

First we were told that the U.S. military was attacking Afghanistan to find bin Laden (who was never charged with the 9/11 attacks). That was a lie—so we were then told that the U.S. military was attacking bin Laden to get rid of al Qaeda and the Taliban. Then we were told that Iraq had weapons of mass deception destruction. That too was a lie—so we were told that the U.S. military was bringing “democracy” to Iraq. Now we are being lied to that Iran is “definitely” developing a nuclear weapon; therefore, the U.S. is probably going to attack Iran. (I still can’t figure out who Iran is planning on using this alleged nuclear weapon on.) When that turns out to be a lie, who knows what lie we will be told as to the reason why the U.S. military attacked Iran?

In the following short scene from one of my all-time favorite anti-government movies (Duck Soup), the government leader (played by the legendary Grouch Marx) talks himself into a phony excuse for attacking his enemy (who has obviously come to make peace with him):
