Occasionally, I will get emails from readers telling me that I am, at times, too unrelenting on issues, or, that I exaggerate the consequences of the enslavement that awaits us all if we, as a society, continue to allow ourselves to be repeatedly bullied, flogged, controlled, and ruled by government henchmen as they plunk us behind the vertical steel bars of oppression otherwise known as “safety rules” or “health advocacy.”
The various government “wars” on health and general safety issues (obesity, food habits, safety mandates, lifestyle fascism, anti-smoking Nazi’ing, etc.) are all for the same purpose: to achieve total control over individuals while institutionalizing state worship via a paternal “soft” fascism from government apparatchiks and perceived “experts” who are elevated to authority status to spread the state’s sanctioned propaganda.
At Chicago’s Little Village Academy, a public school, the Nutrition Czars have commenced a ban on lunches brought from home. That is, evil, “unhealthy” lunches that parents choose for their children. The reporter who wrote the story calls this “nutritional tough love” on the part of the public school autocrats. The rationalization for such a policy is this:
“Nutrition wise, it is better for the children to eat at the school,” principal Elsa Carmona told the paper of the years-old policy. “It’s about … the excellent quality food that they are able to serve (in the lunchroom).
Whose “excellent quality of food” are they talking about? Yours or mine or the government standards influenced by billions of dollars from Big Agra, Big Food, Big Pharma, and the Nutrition Autocracy? This public school is dishing up the conventional wisdom of the health-and-wellness paradigm (which is a failed paradigm for 3+ decades) that includes whole grains, low-fat everything, and, of course, low-sodium everything, too. This confirms, once again, that whenever opportunity is present, the state will always try to impede our freedom of choice and enslave us with its rules that are for the benefit some other party or parties.
When certain ideas and products can’t take a foothold in the marketplace because they are not palatable to the masses, they are recycled through the use of pseudo-science (influenced by $$$), packaged as “healthy” by the powers that be, and forced upon consumers who otherwise would choose a different path. At the most basic level of common sense, you have to ask yourself – why else would force be necessary? Why would packed lunched need to be banned? Are consumers forced to choose Apple over PCs? Are they forced to choose between Merlot and Pinot Noir? They are not forced to do either because the command-o-crats have no power over focused markets made free by technology and competition.
Nutrition is not subject to the free-market – it is a component of government ideology (policy) driven by special interests and censured by government purveyors through the use of the FDA and other omnipotent government agencies that control the dissemination of information and the choices of consumers. And the public school system is just one of the many branches of government that use violence (force) to get individuals to comply with its politically-influenced decrees while sacrificing your children in the name of “protecting” them.
