I’m afraid I used some language in my recent article, “How They Lie About Lincoln,” that was uncalled for. In particular, I should not have used the word “lie” to describe some of the views of Gingrich and Fortschen, which I did in one sentence. I believe they are way off base in saying that Lincoln was a Christian, which he was not, and were wrong and misleading in other areas of their article, but I feel that I should apologize to them for using the word “lie” in one sentence. There is much that is incorrect and misleading in their article, in my opinion, but that is something that Gingrich, Fortschen and I can debate. I certainly don’t think that they intentionally lied.
