Lest Americans Forget

The chairman of Starbucks is announcing a $30 million gift to help war vets. He told CBS News that “he fears that with the wind-down of Afghanistan, some Americans may forget too quickly about the needs of the 2.5 million who have served.”

Forget? The American National religion is the love of the military. We are bombarded day and night with nonsense about how all soldiers are heroes and should be thanked over and over again for keeping us safe and for their service. The Starbucks chairman wants to do more research on PTSD. How about addressing the cause: fighting pointless, senseless, unjust, unnecessary, and immoral foreign wars?
