Les Paul, RIP

The guitar great has died at 94. See the neat YouTubes here, especially the Coors beer commercial. I had the honor of meeting him once, at his home in New Rochelle more than 40 years ago; what a warm, funny, and talented man, God rest his soul. (Thanks to George Johnson)

UPDATE from Butler Shaffer: “With his wife doing the vocals, he also revolutionized popular music with the use of multiple levels of recordings.  His work beat the hell out of modern ‘music’ that relies more on amplifiers; fog machines; bizarre costumes, makeup, and group names, than upon genuine talent!”
