Legitimate resistance

Ryan, your point is well taken, but the main point of my post was that these bishops, who tolerate everything under the sun, suddenly jump into action when their regime of novelty (i.e., the revolutionary changes of the past forty years) is in jeopardy. That’s the one non-negotiable thing. Anyone who dissents needs psychiatric attention.

I do support what Father did, though, but my defense of his decision would certainly tax the patience of blog readers. We’ll discuss it at the next ASC. (In the meantime, I do not share your optimism about these liberal bishops being replaced by conservatives. By Ottaviani standards, there isn’t a single conservative bishop in America, or a single conservative of voting age in the College of Cardinals. Surely this isn’t some kind of oversight on the Vatican’s part.)
