Happily, one such alliance is the micro-alliance between Murray Polner and me. Murray is resolutely a man of the Left, yet each of us found we rather liked what the other wrote on war. As for the old smears by establishment libertarians and neocons, Murray dismissed them out of hand. He knows how people like that operate.

Murray, incidentally, is the author of I don’t know how many books, including biographies of the Berrigan brothers and Branch Rickey; his latest is Peace, Justice and Jews: Reclaiming Our Tradition.

Here’s where all this is leading: Murray and I have an exciting anthology coming out later this year from Basic Books. (By then, the promotional copy on Amazon will be a little more interesting and zingy.)
