Kirchick Keeps It Classy

June is Pride Month which culminates in the commemoration of the Stonewall Riots. On June 28th 1969, gays, lesbians, and sexual minorities of all stripes rioted following a police raid on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in NYC.

The image of drag queens taking on power is a stirring image for anyone outside the privileged classes who has had the boot of the State on his neck. Which is why anyone with a sense of the absurdity about life under Empire will both recoil and laugh when one reads, “Bradley Manning is No Gay Hero” by…of course, James Kirchick.

Bradley Manning has been in jail without trial for 739 days.
