Kafka Comes to Duke

Only in a world of out-of-control prosecutors can one be charged with raping someone — and not have been there to do the deed. Apparently, the defense team for the two young Duke LAX players charged with rape has come up with some convincing proof that shows that those men were not at the house then the alleged (with great emphasis upon the word alleged) attacks occurred.

However, in the racially-charged climate that this prosecutor and people like Jesse Jackson and others have created, not even absolute proof and an airtight alibi will matter. Think about it; no prosecutor would dare charge someone with a crime if that person had photographic proof that he was somewhere else when the alleged act happened, yet that is precisely what Mike Nifong has done in Durham. Furthermore, I believe that a Durham jury right now would convict these student-athletes no matter how much proof was offered of their innocence.

This is the world that political correctness had created. And, trust me, it will get worse, much worse.
