Statistics/Economics Faculty Position Fall 2012
The Joseph A. Butt, S.J., College of Business at Loyola University New Orleans seeks a tenure-track assistant/associate professor of statistics and economics beginning in the Fall 2012. Responsibilities include: 1) teaching multiple sections of introductory business statistics at the undergraduate level and the MBA level; 2) with the possibility of teaching some classes in the economics curriculum as necessary; and 3) serving the Loyola, New Orleans, and professional academic communities. The ideal candidate will show potential for excellence in teaching statistics and in research using statistics, thereby enhancing the reputation of the university. Minimum qualifications include candidacy (ABD) for the Ph.D. in statistics, economics, or related fields. Doctoral work must be from an AACSB accredited institution. Salary is competitive.

The Joseph A. Butt, S.J., College of Business currently enrolls approximately 600 undergraduate students in two degree programs leading to majors in accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing, and international business. Approximately ninety students are enrolled in graduate programs. Undergraduate programs have been continuously accredited by AACSB since 1957, and graduate programs since 1974. Though the economics department is housed in the College of Business and offers a BBA degree, the department also offers a BA in economics from the College of Social Sciences.
