Jazz Birthday: Chris Connor (1927)

Chris Connor was a fine jazz singer with a “lush, foggy voice”. Ms. Connor made a living as a stenographer while pursuing a career as a singer. Boldly moving to that hard city of New York City at age 21 failed to ignite her career so she went on tour with Claude Thornhill’s band before joining Stan Kenton.  “All About Ronny”, “I Get a Kick Out of You”, “Lover Come Back To Me”, “The Man I Love”.
