I doubt any of us labor under the illusion that the criminals in Congress or the White House heed our desires; tyrants never do, not even exceptional Amerikan ones. But you probably have friends and family who drink the Kool-Aid. In that case, here’s a study that confirms DC’s oligarchy (but don’t be surprised when the sots dismiss these facts, too: statism is a false religion to which its victims adhere fanatically. Wasn’t it CS Lewis who observed that men always worship something, and God help us when it isn’t the Lord?)

The researchers, from Princeton and Northwestern Universities, summarize their findings: “The central point that emerges from our research is that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government  policy, while mass-based interest groups and average citizens have little or no independent influence. Our results provide substantial support for theories of Economic Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism.”
