I keep seeing reports in the media about the murder of two US military officers in Afghanistan. Two things. 1. Why is it only murder when they kill us? Has no one in Afghanistan been murdered by US forces? 2. I note in this story that Pentagon press secretary George Little says that defense secretary Leon Panetta “urged the Afghan government to take ‘decisive action’ to protect coalition forces and to curtail violence after a week of unrest sparked by outrage over the burning of the Muslim holy books.” Why does the largest, most powerful military in the world need help to protect coalition forces? The war in Afghanistan is a lost cause. Get out now.
Note to regular military guys: I have sometimes seen the two dead military officers described as high-ranking officers. The regular guys like you are expendable. Do you think this much fuss will be raised over your death in Afghanistan? Get out as soon as you can.
