61 Nobel Laureates endorsed Obama at the same time that Obama announced plans to double the NIH budget if elected. As someone who could benefit from Obama’s proposed increase in the NSF budget, I suppose I should add my name to his list of endorsers out of gratitude (just kidding!).
By the way, Jim, the NIH accounts for over half of that large HHS budget you are surprised by.
