Is the Sun Setting on England’s Banana Empire?

The British press continues to go bananas over the prospect that the U.S. might look after its own national interest in its own hemisphere. Apparently we should defy the Constitution and support the decadent UK’s drive to hang onto the colonies it took from Catholic countries long after it abandoned all the others.

The U.S. Senate never gave its advice and consent (See Article II, Section II) to any treaty requiring the US to send its young men to fight and die to preserve British domination over the Malvinas Islands. Let the Brits and the Argies duke it out. To paraphrase Howard Baker, England is our friend, and Argentina is our friend. And we should always side with our friends.
