Internet War or Cyber War Grows

A news item reports that “cyber army gains strength; thousands join DDoS attacks” by downloading certain software. I said that Assange began this war. I had in mind that he brought it about by goading the U.S. government using the internet as his medium of communication; or that he was leading a kind of slave rebellion that had spread to other forms of internet interventions. I saw the release of the cables as defending, among other things, various freedoms that government had curtailed. But still, the term “started” the war may be too strong for some observers. That’s because after the first cables were released, the first cyber attack came against the WikiLeaks website (11/28) and that site is still under attack.
