I’ll be speaking on images of the family in Western genre film and TV at the Denver Liberty on the Rocks Happy Hour Wednesday night at Choppers Sports Grill (80 S Madison St, Denver, Colorado 80209) in Cherry Creek.
More specifically, I’ll be talking about Little Bill’s lousy carpentry in Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven, and its symbolic importance, and also at Charles Ingalls of the Little House series as frontier hero. Not surprisingly, one of the most libertarian series of historical fiction we have about the frontier was heavily influenced by one of history’s most important libertarians: Laura Ingalls’s daughter Rose Wilder Lane.
Drop by Chopper’s tonight (Wednesday night) at 7 pm to hear more.
Mostly, I’ll be taking stuff from my book.12:13 am on April 3, 2013 Email Ryan McMaken
