If You’re Not a High State Official

In Oregon, a young man who accidently shot a fellow hunter in the arm was just sentenced to twenty days on the sheriff’s road crew, two years of probation (and no hunting), and $865 in costs, for “misdemenor assault and negligently wounding another.” Thanks to Daniel McAdams for the story.

FOX, meanwhile, continues its Cheney victimology. Sean Hannity was bemoaning the vicious treatment of this great man. Tucker Carlson said it happened on private property, and therefore was no one’s business. This morning, FOX assured us that the wounded man “just had a few BBs in him.”

PS: Many shotgun pellets will remain in the victim’s skin for the rest of his life (though “fewer than 100,” we are reassured). Note that this is buried in the story.
