I Survived a Free Market Meal

There’s a Hispanic person who comes around my building during the day and sells burritos out of a cooler for $2.50. I’m pretty sure they’re made by his wife (or other relative) in his kitchen. It’s an all cash business.

So, I can only guess that this food is prepared without any approval from the local “authorities,” and I even doubt he pays any taxes on the income from such dealings. He may even be an illegal immigrant, for all I know (and I certainly don’t care). I know it’s terribly unpatriotic of me, but I eat his burritos every now and then, and yet his non-government-approved, untaxed food has yet to kill me.
