You can still love Apple products while rejecting the company’s controlling ways. I recently refitted my iMac to run Linux as the primary OS. This was motivated largely by my disdain for Apple’s excessively proprietary software—notably the recent OS X upgrade that proved worthless on my machine.

Apple certainly has it’s share of negatives, but one policy that deserves to be put into the positive column is their support of the homeschool community. They are the only computer manufacturer, of which I am aware, that extends their education pricing to homeschool teachers.
