You might assume that Mayor Mike “the Nanny” Bloomberg and its imbecilic City Council are enough punishment even for New York City, but no: the place is also cursed with unbearable heat and humidity. The mercury will hover near 100 degrees today.
Our Rulers’ response to this — yes, there is nothing in all creation these bozos consider beyond their purview or abilities — is to bray about the “cooling centers” they’ve opened on our dime. I visited one of these once and wrote about it here. Those ten minutes at the “center” remain among the most depressing of my life.
