From my inbox: an email sent by Harvard’s history department to recipients of Harvard history degrees:

“We would greatly appreciate it if you would share some of your experiences and write one or two paragraphs on how your training in history at Harvard mattered in your professional life. We are planning to produce a brochure and web page highlighting some of the accomplishments of our alumni, enabling students to think creatively about the potential careers that a Harvard History degree opens up.”

You think I could get my picture in that brochure?
