I am a Board member of an international not-for-profit with its base being located in Detroit. We are currently managing a transition of a 100-year-old newspaper to digital format, with completion expected by mid-2014. We are looking for an unpaid intern to work 5, 10, or … more (?) hours per week to work on all aspects of the transition. The internship period and schedule can be entirely flexible. This intern can be located anywhere in the world and do all work online or via conference calls and Skype. The intern will work mostly through me (as I am leading the transition project) as well as other members (the President and Chairman, other members of the Board of Directors, and/or Board of Advisors). These members are located in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

The skills we are looking for can be conveyed via a private email in detail, but at a high level I am looking for the following: good communication skills (written and oral); a general understanding of web and/or WordPress; ability to complete tasks without being heavily managed; and the ability to work to Project Plan timelines that will be fairly generous because this is a volunteer organization. Being a libertarian or classical liberal is a bonus, but not necessary. Dutch language skills are not necessary, but this would also be a huge plus.

Upon completion of the internship, this person will take away nice resume-building material, and also, some great references and networking opportunities. Please contact me (Karen DeCoster) directly if you are interested at: rothbardiancpa (at) yahoo.com.
