Hurricane Report From Lower Manhattan

Writes Dom Fallucci:

“To support and add to what Keith Snyder said: In my neighborhood in lower Manhattan, a lot of rain fell here, and there was some flooding. However, I have seen similar flooding in the past without all this panic. I live three blocks from the East River, and am in a mandatory evacuation zone. Water on the streets here has already started receding.

“My family and I decided to shelter in place, moved my car to higher ground, and were prepared for any power outages. It could have been a lot worse; so far so good. A few stores are already open.

“Since 9/11, the authorities only know how to scare people. Whatever they say nowadays, take it with a pound of salt (forget about a grain of salt).”
