The real crime of Ron Paul, of course, is not that he is against the Iraq war, but rather that he is against government being at war with everyone at home. In its support of the IRS, the Puffington Host is saying that it agrees with the IRS having vast powers to abuse people, destroy lives, all in the search of more money to promote domestic spending.

I remember a few years ago Paul Krugman (a darling of the Puffington Host) declared that the IRS really never abused anyone, and that people who want to curb the IRS powers want to do so because they support “inequality” and all other sorts of Really Bad Things that leftists say they want to end in our society.

To the political establishments of both political parties, the Constitution is just nothing more than a piece of paper that they can manipulate for their own personal use. Anyone who advocates placing limits on the power of the state are considered “kooks” and “nut jobs” who don’t appreciate the glory of government.
