How sad that after being told that they would be leaving Iraq by the end of the year, some U.S. soldiers never lived to see that day. How their families must be saying over and over again, “Just one more month, if only he could have made it just one more month”
According to the DOD:
Spc. David E. Hickman, 23, of Greensboro, N.C., died Nov. 14, in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries suffered after encountering an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Why wait until the end of the year? Bring the troops home now. How dare people write me and castigate me for not supporting the troops. I support keeping the troops from getting killed for no good reason. Despicable warmongers like John McCain, most of the Republicans in Congress, and most of the Republican presidential candidates want to expend more American blood and treasure. (Not that Democrats are any better. If Obama wanted to keep the troops in Iraq for another year or ten years, they would generally support his decision.) I want to bring the troops home and end the madness that is the Iraq War. I want them to stop killing and being killed.
