“He [Winant] writes: ‘No, he [Lincoln] was just a godless heathen: Lincoln even wrote a book that argued that the Bible was not the word of God and that Jesus was not the son of God. When he decided to get into politics, the book was burned.’
“This liar takes this from your article, How They Lie About Lincoln. What this creep fails to mention . . . is that you were paraphrasing from the Lincoln biography by William Herndon rebutting the claim by New Gingrich and William Fortschen that Lincoln was “a man of deep and abiding faith.” Winant implies that YOU claim that this is the [sole] reason why [Lincoln] invaded the South. What a despicable human being.”
