Lew: According to Mr. Gerson, “libertarianism has a rigorous ideological coldness at its core.” He must be contrasting libertarianism with the warm-hearted, humanely-inspired wars, torture, imprisonments without trial, assassinations, and other benevolent acts visited upon adults and children alike by that eleemosynary institution headquartered along the Potomac! Are such people so detached from the reality they believe themselves to be describing that they truly believe such nonsense, or is the political establishment so desperate to prevent its impending collapse that it must resort to such twisted thinking? Does Mr. Gerson — or his employer — ever wonder why the mainstream media is losing readers and viewers in great numbers?
