‘Hi, This Is Meg Whitman.’

Writes Sean Eberhart:

I just received a call from the Meg Whitman campaign that I thought you would appreciate. As is par for the course with politicians, by the second sentence of the recording she had lied. Now that I think about it, the first sentence was pretty dubious too but I don’t want to split hairs. The call went like this:

“Hi, this is Meg Whitman.”
“I’m calling to personally…”

I only listened long enough to be subjected to one lie before I hung up so I can’t tell you what she was calling me to “personally” relay. I can’t help but think of Hans-Herman Hoppe’s essay “The Impossibility of Limited Government and the Prospects for a Second American Revolution,” wherein he so cogently expressed what we’ve all known for years. That is, that those with fewer moral scruples are afforded a distinct advantage by our system of government. So, if Meg can’t even make it through two sentences without lying, she should fit right in with all the other mythomaniacs in Sacramento.
