Mr. Reddy, I read your article at the WSJ, and I’m not sure why you missed a significant point that should have been made. Over the last year, as a daily WSJ reader and subscriber, I’ve listened and read less and less because of this very problem.

The U.S. government never really raises taxes. Ever. They also never lower spending. Ever.

The only way the U.S. government handles all their rampant spending is through the creation of more debt/credit via the Federal Reserve, combined with fractional-reserve banking.

Why raise taxes when you can dilute the dollars saved in banks? Why lower spending when you can just create more money, basically out of thin air?

And better yet, why did you have such a prominent article position, without addressing these issues?
