The US Navy has fired a laser gun from one of its ships, lighting a boat on fire. How many billions is that worth? Shovel out more flammable dollars to the military-industrial complex. Note: Archimedes developed a way to light ships on fire from a distance more than 2200 years ago.

I think it should be noted that Archimedes conceived his invention with the thought of protecting Syracuse, and it was later used against the invading Romans. Our military will of course be using this technology in the role of the Romans, to invade, degrade, and dominate indigenous populations.
