Michael Lind frets that the neocons have so discredited the American empire that future administrations will no longer be able to lead multinational “humanitarian” interventions. Nebojsa Malic of Antiwar.com thinks it would be great if Lind was correct but fears it is unlikely. I share both Nebojsa hope that Lind’s nightmares come true and his skeptisicm that Lind really has anything to worry about. Instead, I fear that a Kerry administration would give the UN enough control over America’s blood and treasure to restore’s the Empire’s “credibility” with the rest of the world.
