Gun Control Through Democratic Executive Legislation?

It wasn’t that long ago when we’d hear passionate cries by Democratic “leaders” in Congress whenever Bush II would use executive orders and other executive branch powers to do his bidding. The imperial presidency will use any means available to it—legal or not, procedural or not, constitutional or not. The American president does not preside; it absorbs all power, centralizing authority.

So why, then, would Obama be any different? He’s not:

Faced with a Congress hostile to even slight restrictions of Second Amendment rights, the Obama administration is exploring potential changes to gun laws that can be secured strictly through executive action, administration officials say.

Hope? Change? Yes We Can? LOL@U, voter! May your disillusion turn into perpetual apathy. That, actually, would be real change and hope.
