Optional lunch from 11:30am-1:15pm in the Grace Commons. Lunch for Veterans and active military members (and their families) is free; all others will pay $10. I said recently that the god of Americans was the military. No wonder, when the god of the churches is the military.
The keynote speaker, Dave Roever “was burned beyond recognition when a phosphorus grenade he was poised to throw [in Vietnam] exploded in his hand.” Gee, I wonder how badly some “gook” would have been burned had the grenade hit its target? You are right, I don’t feel sorry for Mr. Roever, regardless of whether he was drafted.
And since when is the word “veterans” capitalized?
