The revolving doors between government and its most powerful allies continue to lead an active life. The most sprightly revolving doors are those between government and Big Pharma, government and Wall Street, and government and the defense industry. But don’t forget the media. Remember that Rahm Emanuel, who has not been elected to any office by the people of America, said, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.” Since then, this has become the favorite motto for “bold” politicians and their appointed sidekicks who wish to reconstruct America via the political system.

The swine flu crisis is just the latest example of using the available revolving doors to shovel skilled propagandists from one useful platform to another. Dr. Richard Besser, who Time magazine once called “the CDC’s calm-voiced, telegenic acting director,” has joined ABC News as a medical reporter. Besser has been the CDC’s “public health emergency preparedness and emergency response” Czar. Essentially, he has been the Chief Swine Flu Propagandist for the government. This ought to tell you what the government-media coalition has planned for us down the road concerning its swine flu crisis and the militarization of health care. ABC certainly had to offer a sweet pot to entice Dr. Besser to jump from government mouthpiece to media mouthpiece. There’s a big job planned for this fella. Red flag anyone?
