Government Supremacists

Over at Liberty Blog Stewart Rhodes points out that the controversy over whether Bush should get Congressional permission before spying, torturing, detaining, etc. misses the point. Under the Constitution, there are some things the President is not supposed to do, regardless of whether or not he is acting with Congressional approval. Stewart points out that both the right and left are government supremacists, who believe that anything government does is justified. The only difference is the left wants a Republican President to get permission form Congress before violating the rights of the American people (I doubt the left will want Hillary to be restrained by Congress…)
