Good News From the RNC

A whole generation of new, energetic Ron-Paul libertarians is learning that the GOP will never tolerate anything other than obedience to the party line of war, socialism, and state power. I don’t know why they were surprised, although it was somewhat compelling to see some yelling “F&*k you” from the floor. Yes, we must only politely defer to our betters so they can get back to shoveling cash to bankers and lobbyists and bombing toddlers in far off lands.

Guys, the deck was stacked from the beginning. The game is about power, not freedom, or principles or even following your own rules. (By the way, I applaud the committed Paulians who were there to embarrass the party establishment.)

To wit:

Yelena Vorobyov, a 30-year-old Paul delegate from Apple Valley, Minnesota, was eager to vent. Barely taking a breath, she said: “This is just evidence of the manipulation of the Republican Party. They’re not even allowing us to bring signs in, but they brought in their own [pro-Romney] signs. We couldn’t nominate Ron Paul. The ‘no’ for not passing the rules was louder than the ‘aye’ and they ruled in favor of the rules. They’re cheating. The Republican National Committee is not transparent and does not have integrity. They stole votes. They stole delegates. They refused to send busses for our delegates. It’s a totalitarian process. This is not democracy. It’s a really sad day for us. I’ve worked for Republican candidates since I was 16. We believed the Republican Party had more integrity. Boy, did they prove us wrong.”

Refuse to endorse this system. Educate yourselves. Make money. Live free. Educate your children away from the clutches of the government schools. Support true freedom of speech and organizations like LRC and the Mises Institute. Prepare for a future when things will be different. Remember, the East Germans were told that their government would endure forever. Then one day, without a shot fired, it was gone.
