Thanks to the American Associations of Physicians and Surgeons for calling attention to Comptroller General David Walker’s prediction that the total debt of the United States Government, including unfunded liabilities, will reach $50 TRILLION by 2005, or $166,000 for every American. Meanwhile, on Capitol Hill, the GOP is congratulating itself for cutting .1% in the projected rate of growth of a small portion of the Federal budget, while the Democrats are screaming that the heartless Republicans are about to repeal the Great Society.
