Gary North on the Movies

“It was a weak movie year.

“Three documentaries were good: Rize, March of the Penguins, and Mad Hot Ballroom.

“Among big-screen blockbusters, Chronicles of Narnia was the winner.

“Cinderella Man was good. I especially liked the scene where he returned the welfare money.

“Coach Carter and Hitch were OK, but not great.

“The Producers was not as good as the original, but the dancing was great, and the routine in the room full of accountants was terrific: ‘I’m unhappy.’

“The best drama was Walk the Line. Witherspoon was terrific. She always played ditzy blondes before. I concluded that she was a ditzy blonde.

“I liked Robots. But it was no Monsters, Inc.”
