Flu Shot – Is the Blue Light Special Next?

People may notice that whenever you drive by a Walgreen’s, CVS, or Rite Aid, you see the huge signs out front that are graced with messages such as, “GET YOUR FLU SHOT HERE“, or “FLU SHOT 1/2 OFF.”

Additionally, I keep getting these emails from CVS advertising all kinds of gimmicks to entice one to come in and get a government-approved, Big Pharma-recommended jab. Entire portions of websites for these drugstores are dedicated to flu shot propaganda. This latest deal from CVS offers the flu shot conformist a 20% off shopping pass when you get a CDC-recommended flu shot. When will we see the blue light special, or perhaps, even better, the BYGOF (Buy One Get One Free) bargain? I predict we will see flu shot Groupons next.

On most days, I take iodine (Iodoral), non-synthetic (liquid) Vitamin B-12 (1x per week), 5,000 IU of Vitamin D3, 2,000-5,000mg of Vitamin C, 800 IU of Vitamin E, and Magnesium, and I cannot remember the last time I got the flu (or got sick at all). In the days when I was engaging chronic cardio (cycling/racing) and carb-loading (pasta, pasta!), I got very sick 1-3x per year. My flu periods were becoming predictable and memorable. Since going real-foodist (primal-paleo), my memories of being sick are just that – memories.

CVS has even employed Katie Couric as a flu shot propagandist. What a tool these celebrities have become.
