Feds shut down yet another gun store

Oh, just the latest crackdown on victimless crimes. Notice the arrogant tone of this Browning guy:

Federal agents this morning raided Elliot’s Gun Shop in Old Jefferson, one of the busiest gun dealers in Louisiana, confiscating all its firearms, ammunition and business records and seizing the property.

“This store will never operate again,” said Robert Browning, assistant special agent in charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Louisiana.

Apparently the store owner had been buying and selling guns with police credentials, getting discounts from the manufacturers. OK, so maybe this guy should have known better, but should the feds be involved in this?

The BATFE also claims that this store was the source of many guns used in crimes. Too bad, who knows how many lives were saved thanks to this business. These kinds of stories are not uncommon these days but the reason I’m a bit biased this time is because I know someone very close to me who bought some items from that very same store and was glad to have had said items after Katrina.

We’re all much better off now that the “store will never operate again.” We have been saved!
