It has been quite a day so far in DC. Apparently, a building at the corner of 14th and G Streets — right outside my window at New York and 14th — was evacuated after police spied a “suspicious-looking” automobile parked on G Street. The White House and Treasury were evacuated (again, a regular ocurrence these days), and there were all kinds of people crowded on 14th. The DC bomb squad arrived. There were police everywhere.
Thankfully there was no kaboom. The all-clear was given about 30 minutes after all this began.
Traffic seems lighter today and there appear to be far fewer people on the streets. I don’t know if that’s just my imagination or what.
