Hillary Clinton is a nag. In her voice and constant hectoring, the U.S. has two prime instruments of torture. Her appearance is slowly but surely making progress as a third such instrument. Not recognized as such, however, except perhaps by Bill, who himself can drawl us to despair and can hardly bear no longer being president, they pass under the radar of worldwide conventions. If she were exported to Guantanamo and turned loose on its prisoners, waterboarding, unconscionably loud “music,” and isolation could be replaced.
